This is the EHR research web server

We have been active in several EU projects over the past decade on the requirements, specification, implementation and evaluation of EHR systems and middleware services. These European Commission sponsored projects include GEHR, Synapses, EHCR-SupA, Medicate and 6WINIT. Over the past five years this EHR research team has implemented a component-based federated EHR server drawing on those R&D results, and piloted its live use at the Whittington Hospital in north London.

Dipak Kalra is now leading the CEN EHRcom Task Force, working closely with David Lloyd and other international health informatics professionals. We are a partner in the MRC e-Science project CLEF-Services, developing a large-scale anonymised EHR repository of cancer records with access for biomedical and genomics research, via the Grid. Finally we are part of the SESAME project aimed at delivering benefits to athletes from novel methods in performance analysis.

An Anticoagulant Decision Support application has been authored to show off the first version of the record server produced as part of this work. We are reviewing and re-designing our EHR server during 2006-7, including this application, building on the completing EHRcom standard.

Students interested in pursuing project work here in the department might like to take a look at our list of student projects. To enquire about undertaking one of these projects (or another that you wish to suggest) please contact Dipak.
